May 20, 1927, At 7:52 am Charles Lindbergh takes off from Roosevelt Field in Long Island, New York, to complete the world's first solo, non-stop flight, across the Atlantic Ocean. He landed in Paris at 10:22 pm the next day.
In 1956, operation redwing, the first hydrogen bomb is dropped by the United States over Bikini Atoll in the Pacific Ocean.
